The Dreaded New Year’s Resolutions
It is New Year’s Eve. Every other post I see on social media is about a 2025 wrap up or the goals people are setting for 2026.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love to reflect on the year behind us and make some goals for the year ahead. HOWEVER, usually folks make these wildly lofty goals or plans that don’t make it out of January. Did you know that “23% of adults quit their New Year’s goals by the end of the first week of January” and “92% of adults will not follow through on a resolution” (https://www.driveresearch.com/market-research-company-blog/new-years-resolutions-statistics/).
Why are we spending time making lofty routine or health goals? Let’s make this more fun.
I challenge you to 2026 BINGO.
Instead of making resolutions, make tangible goals. They can be very specific, or vague. But they shouldn’t be “workout 4 times a week”. Some of them can be health related. But some should be personal, or involve self care. Heck, maybe it can even include “organize my junk drawer”.
Even better than a Bingo card for yourself, is a Bingo card for your kids. We completed all but 2 goals on her whole card! And it was fun for the whole family.
I am still working on my 2026 bingo cards, but have shown you my personal 2025 card! Did I complete the whole card? Nope. But I got BINGO twice and it has given me a jumping point to start my 2026 card.
Will you give it a try? I’d love to see your cards! Send me an email at hello@alliborganizing.com or tag me on IG @alliborganizing
